WatchMarc Newson designs the k01 camera for pentax talks about his process when designing a product. Its interesting he mentionst how most cameras are designed in house at corporations usually by engineers and while they might be great engineers they are not designers! Also Marc doesnt care what we want and im okay with that.

When the sketch looks better than the real thing..
Obviously sketches are emotional renderings of products, however its interesting to see the sketches against the actual finished product. alot of the time I like the sketch of the car better than the real car. Sketches are powerful tools dude! check this jeep example out for instance

I saw the real thing first and didnt like it much. the sketch wins in my book.
